New Quarterbacks at the Helm in the NFL for 2010

As the 2010 NFL season approaches, and fans everywhere get ready to watch NFL football online, on their televisions or at their favorite stadiums once again, a major storyline to think about is the number of teams coming into the year with radically different faces at the quarterback position. Some are bringing star power and some are bringing youth and inexperience, but every quarterback on this list shares in the power to alter the fortunes of their respective franchises for years to come.

Washington Redskins – Donovan McNabb
The Washington Redskins are coming off of a disappointing 4-12 2009 campaign, and are looking to improve an anemic offense that only mustered 16.6 points per game last season. In the offseason, the Redskins acquired Donovan McNabb, the star quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles, for a second round 2010 draft pack and a conditional 2011 draft pick. They are hoping McNabb can come to Washington and provide similar numbers to

Owens Out of the Fields for a Couple Weeks

Terrell Owens will be out of the football fields for the next 2 to 4 weeks since he broke the ring finger on his right hand last Sunday during the game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins at Texas Stadium.

Terrell Owens made his formal Cowboys home debut and he caught three passes for 19 yards before he left the game. During the season’s opening at Jacksonville, Owens had six catches for 80 yards and a touchdown. The final result of this game was a 24-17 loss for Dallas.

The wide receiver was suspended or inactive for the last nine games of the 2005 season because of continuous problems with the Philadelphia Eagles front office, and then missed almost all of training camp and the preseason with the Dallas Cowboys due to a hamstring injury. Also, he has supposedly been fined ,500 for not attending to a team meeting. The five-time Pro Bowl selection that used to disagree with coaches and management finished last season with 47 catches

NFL Preseason Week 4: Jets vs Eagles and Broncos vs Vikings Odds

In the final match-ups of 2010 NFL preseason predictions, Thursday will feature the New York Jets vs Philadelphia Eagles at 7:30pm EST from Lincoln Financial Field and the Denver Broncos vs Minnesota Vikings at 8:00pm EST from Mall of America Field. New York has gone 1-2 in NFL preseason betting while Philadelphia has had better success going 2-1. Denver has also had a slow start heading into week 4 odds while Brett Fave and Minnesota has gone 2-1. Online sportsbooks have the Eagles -1.5 favorites at home vs the Jets with an over/under total of 34 while the Vikings -4.5 are also favored at home vs the Broncos with an over/under total of 35.5.

New York has been predicted by many sports betting handicappers to win the AFC and Super Bowl but have had a less than stellar performance losing to the New York Giants 16-31 in the 2010 preseason opener before barely winning 9-3 vs the Carolina Panthers only to fall in week 3 to the Washington Redskins

Week 15 NFL Power Rankings: All 32 Teams

The NFL is great. Why is it great? Because (and excuse the cliché) on any given Sunday, any team beat any team. It’s impossible to figure out who will beat who. The Redskins lose to the Lions, yet come within a chip shot field goal of beating the Saints. The Jets beat the Patriots, but lose to the Bills. The Packers are a top five offensive team and the No. 1 defense and lost to the Buccaneers. The Raiders can lose to the Chiefs, but then beat the Eagles and Bengals. And I haven’t even mentioned the defending Super Bowl champions losing to the Chiefs, Raiders and Browns. Yes, the NFL is great and the final three weeks of the 2009 season are going to be fun to watch. Four 7-6 teams in the AFC fighting for just one playoff spot while things in the NFC are just as competitive. With 15 weeks under our belts, here are the latest NFL Power Rankings.

By Stephen Lars The Dallas Cowboys have had some troubles this season. Tony Romo had a fairly good season, with 4483 passing yards, and 26 touchdowns. But when it comes to playoffs his 63.1% completion average drops to 53.8%. Romo has only completed 398 yards in his 3 playoffs participations and has not won any of his playoff’s games. Although the Cowboys have won their last three games, the Eagles’ last couple postseason numbers are much more inviting. Just like last weekend’s game, Dallas is facing the Eagles at the Cowboys Stadium, and home sweet home, might just give them an extra edge. They played very well for the NFC East title against the Eagles to win 24-0 last week. But it has been 13 years since Dallas won in the Playoffs. On the other hand, under Coach Andy Reid the Philadelphia Eagles have reached five NFC title games, including last year’s run. And if it is consistency you are looking for, the Eagles have kept Reid in front of the team ever since

Here is my description of the top ten defenses in the NFL. This season looks to be a roller coaster and a lot of teams will have trouble staying on top of this list. This was written after week three so things may change from now to later in the season.

10. Arizona Cardinals: They have some of the sickest safeties in the league. We’re talking Adrian Wilson and Antrel Rolle. The corners are not bad either. I mean they got Rodgers Cromartie as well as other consistent players. They would be higher on this list but their run defense is suspect. I haven’t heard of any of their linebackers or defensive lineman. And I’m sure you haven’t either. They are allowing 100 yards per game rushing which is not bad but they have played San Fran, Miami, and Washington. So not the toughest foes just yet.

9. Green Bay Packers: They would also be much higher if they hadn’t just lost Al Harris for a couple games. They have a great secondary and just

The surprising and just two-time NFL Champion, the Arizona Cardinals are considered for some as the underdog of this year’s Super Bowl XLIII, which will be played on February 1st at Tampa, Florida. The Arizona Cardinals finished the regular season with a decent but not surprising record of 9 victories and 7 loses, winning the West division title. However, after classifying to the playoffs of the NFL, many expected them to lose in the first round against the Atlanta Falcons, but things didn’t happen the way people thought and the Cardinals defeated the Falcons in great way with a score of 30-24.

Even so, with people still not believing in the Cardinals game, they projected again that the Carolina Panthers in the following game would disqualify the team. Nevertheless, the Cardinals surprised everyone again by beating the Panthers with a shocking score of 33-13 at their favor. Getting into the NFC Championship, the Arizona Cardinals were
